Looks like we're getting an update on the upcoming game Visions of Mana. The game is set to be released in Summer 2024 and to be available for the PC through Steam as well as consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4. This title is going to be the first mainline entry to Mana series for more than 15 years.
In addition to a reveal of the release schedule, we also get a peek at some of the gameplay along with behind-the-scenes footage. This was done through a developer showcase which featured Mana Series Producer Masaru Oyamada and Mana Series Creator Koichi Ishii.
New Way to Fight
Oyamada in particular gave new details on the combat for the game. One of the features was the addition of what's known as the aerial combat system. What it does is bring players to new "heights" and let them do physical attacks with weapons and even magic attacks while in mid-air.
Look Who’s Back
Longtime fans can look forward to seeing the return of the Elementals. These Elementals assist players during the battle in the form of specialized items with each of the weapon having a different effect while in combat based on the respective element. This lets players experience a fast-paced and flexible fighting style.
New Companions
Another feature that players can look forward to is a new companion known as "pikuls." These have been designed by none other than Koichi Ishii. This companion is inspired form animals and mythology. What they do is help players travel across the rather expansive ground map while exploring the world in the game.

Enjoy the Music
Square Enix also revealed that the soundtrack for the game is going to have 100 songs at launch. All of them have either been composed or received contributions from the musical creators who were also involved in the previous Mana games. These include the likes of Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito and Ryo Yamazaki.
In addition, the game is also set to feature a new adaptive music system. It’s a system where players get to experience a seamless transition from map transition and into battles. This helps heighten the sense of urgency and the arrangement of background music even changes the moment players enter or leave combat.
