A new update has been released for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. One of the highlights are the changes made to the game's Expeditions.
In the game, Expeditions mode is an extraction-style PvE mode that was initially introduced with the "Beyond the Hive" update. How it works is that players leave Hive Tertium to explore the hazardous surface of Atoma Prime. They then need to complete randomized 10 to 30-minute runs to harvest resources before extracting.
The Update for Expeditions is divided between new content and reworked content. For new content, players can look forward to the new time of day which is Dawn. There are also new level content like Scavenge Zone and Deadsider Sanctuary. There are even new Sites of Interest that come with electric hazards.
Reworked Features
One of the reworks done was in how Tech-Remnants are shared. In particular, players no longer have a personal Tech-Remnant pool but instead the Tech-Remnants picked up by a member of the strike team are added to the team’s shared pool.
Then whenever a player dies, the team’s pool is reduced by 25%. However, this only happens if the team has more than 100 Tech-Remnants. Another rework is that 50% of the value is dropped at the spot where the player died. The team can retrieve the remaining 50% of the deducted value if they rescue the player that died.
Still on the reworks, if a hog-tied player is teleported to a Deadsider Sanctuary, the Tech-Remnants attached to them are lost. Finally, for each alive player missing from the Valkyrie at the moment of extraction, 25% of the pool is reduced in the End of Round screen.
Aside from Tech-Remnants, there are also improvements made to the Auspex. One of these is that the Sites of Interest, Scavenge Zone exits, and extraction points can now be marked on the Auspex by up to four players. In addition, the Hog-tied players are displayed on the Auspex. Players should also take note that the Auspex map does not start in focused mode if the player is moving while equipping it.
