A new update is now live in Warhammer: Vermintide II and introduces a new free level. Dubbed as "The Forsaken Temple," it is the first of three maps that's part of the new Verminous Dreams campaign.
This one follows Lohner whose investigations, after being tipped off by an otherworldly visit, has resulted in the discovery of Skaven around the ruins of what appears to be an ancient elven temple. It's one that's said to not even exist. With this new map, players can look forward to meeting Okri's Challenges and obtaining new rewards.
Gifts of the Wolf Father
In addition to the new update, this month also sees the return of the Gifts of the Wolf Father. He brings with him an exciting bag of goodies to share with everyone. How it works is that starting December 9, players can log in to the game and then head on over to Lohner’s Emporium and claim that day’s Gift. There's a lot to be obtained that includes cosmetics, illusions, coins, frames, and all sorts of goodies. Keep an eye out as well for a very, very special hat that makes its long-awaited and fishy return.
This event runs until January 3.
Versus Update
Back in November, the Versus game mode was introduced. It's pretty much a new way to experience the game. The thing is, all players on the PC get to receive the first update to Versus this December 17. This one is going to add a new playable boss in the Rat Ogre. It was created by piecing together multiple Skaven and uses raw force to overcome its opponents. Learn more about the Versus mode here.
Still on Versus, developer Fatshark revealed that it appears they may have overshot a bit when it comes to adjusting the kill counter target. The studio was so impressed with how the players performed in the first weeks that they got a bit overambitious for the new one.
In the spirit of the holidays, the period to reach the kill counter has been extended from Sunday to Wednesday. That means there’s still time to reach the target of 250,000 Heroes killed in Versus before the next spotlight starts.
