Shiro Unlimited has announced that their medieval open-world tactical RPG, Wartales, will be leaving Early Access and launching 1.0 on April 12, 2023, via Steam. The game has already sold over 400,000 copies in Early Access and will be introducing a new region, the Kingdom of Alazar, with the 1.0 launch.
Players will enter a land filled with both danger and wealth, and they will need to navigate the open-world while enlisting the help of a mercenary warband to achieve their goals. The upcoming launch will introduce a series of updates to the game, including specializations, customization, battlemaps, and more.
The new Kingdom of Alazar region will feature snow-covered fields and dark secrets that the player will need to uncover to save the land from the divine Wrath of the Eye. With a reworked faction of Alazarian Soldiers and the Inquisition, players will need to overcome new fauna and predators with superior turned-based tactics.
Wartales 1.0 will also feature polished graphics, new arenas, rouste fields, battlemaps, ruins, forsaken villages, and secrets. The game will also offer more character customization options and additional balancing, skills, and specializations.
Quentin Lapeyre, Game Director at Shiro Games, expressed gratitude to the community for their contribution in building Wartales' identity and added, "the end of Early Access is just the beginning of a new adventure in which we still have many tales to tell, secrets to uncover, and throats to slit."
Wartales will be available in English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, and Portuguese language support on Windows PC via Steam.
