Game Details

The king of Berbania falls sick and it is said that only the song of the legendary Adarna Bird will be able to cure him. He sends his eldest son to find the bird first, but this son does not return. He sends out his second son, but the same thing happens. Three years pass since the disappearance of the eldest son, and the king’s health still does not improve. The youngest son, Juan, then insists that he must find the bird and then his brothers. The king and the queen did not want to lose their only remaining son, so they were hesitant at first. Juan, however, was very insistent so the king finally agrees. Juan then goes to learn some skills as an Eskrimador, or an Arnis-user.

Adarna is an educational game based on the 17th century Filipino epic Ibong Adarna (traditionally attributed to José de la Cruz). The gameplay is inspired by Japanese RPGs and uses a simple turn-based battle system. The game’s purpose is to help children practice their Tagalog through story-telling.
