Around the World is a 1-player role playing game for the 8-bit Atari.
The player attempts to travel around the world from London in as little time as possible, by travelling between major cities and locations. There are a total of 40 locations to visit. In each location, the player navigates a small scrolling map, and each area has a travel booth, a general store, a food store, and a transportation store. The player has a limited supply of food and gold, and food supplies must be maintained, or the player starves. The player can buy weapons, armor, and other protective devices at the general store, and can buy a horse, which reduces food use, at the transportation store. The player encounters random enemies, who can either be persuaded to help the player, engage the player in combat, or be fled from. The player also encounters random chests, which can provide gold or be trapped. If the player is injured in combat or in random events, they lose time. If they are severely injured, they lose a life. The player can be resurrected 3 times/game.
