Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII

This prequel to Final Fantasy VII, taking place six years prior to that game, has players learning about Shinra from a very different perspective - as members of the Turks, a paramilitary force that acts as Shinra’s body guards and covert operations. Over the course of the game’s 24 episodes, players will control eleven different new members of the Turks, interacting with named characters who appeared in the original game and new characters.

In the main story mode, players jump into the shoes of one of the protagonists and follow their story. Gameplay is largely linear, interspersed with quests and action-based combat along the way. Players can collect materia using a unique form of integration with the phone hardware: players can take photos using their phone’s camera, and the shapes and colours of things in the photo influence what materia is produced. Aside from the story mode, players can also wander the game’s world in the free mode where they can talk to characters or engage in extra side quests, or take on other players online in the Battle Square.
