In the near future a terrible series of environmental disasters strike globally. The civilization as we knew it ceased to exist, but the human race prevailed. People live now in small communities, eking out their existence, facing supply shortages every day. Their survival depends on the wandering trader caravans, which deliver the necessary goods.
The player starts out with a modest sum inherited from an uncle, dreaming to become a successful caravaneer. By buying goods in towns producing them, later delivering & selling them where there’s demand (ever changing), you multiply your merchant’s fortune, hire helpers, buy weapons & ammunition, beasts of burden, carts and eventually cars, increasing your transport capacity and chances to survive those dangerous trips through the wilderness, swarming with bandits bound to attack passing caravans.
In Caravaneer travel between towns occurs in real-time, while combat encounters are played out in turns. Each person has a set of statistics and skills, including marksmanship, repairing and tending to sick animals. Each day people will consume food, animals - forage, cars - fuel; water is also essential for survival (don’t forget to buy containers), all of the above needs to be carried by the caravan apart from the trading goods.
Apart from the story mode (which includes talking to NPCs), the game also offers three ranked challenges on its website.
