Chroma Squad is a tactical role-playing game that follows the story of five stunt actors who leave their jobs to establish a TV show in the style of Power Rangers. As players progress through the game, they cast actors, buy equipment, craft weapons and construct giant Mechas out of cardboard in their own studio. During battles, players control the team of five colored-suited warriors in tactical, turn-based battles. The game features customization options for the TV studio, such as hiring actors, upgrading equipment, and doing marketing. The RPG elements include skill trees, random equipment, crafting, and a branching storyline with three different endings. Teamwork maneuvers give players the chance to combine their heroes’ abilities in battle. Giant Mecha combat adds to the action by allowing players to save the city while destroying it. This game is a nod to Power Rangers and other Japanese series of childhood intertwined with deliciously animated pixel art and chiptune soundtrack.
