Deceit 2 is a 6-9 player social deduction horror game set in Milhaven Asylum in 1979. Players are imprisoned and forced to participate in the Ritual of Deceit at the hands of the malevolent Game Master. Two players among them have been Infected, and must do the Game Master’s bidding. The Innocent players must work together to escape the Ritual while deducing who is plotting against them. Infected players can activate Blood Altars located across the map, weakening the veil of reality until it breaks and transporting all players to The In-Between, a parallel dimension in which the Infected have terrifying powers. Innocent players have power in numbers and can eliminate any suspected Infected player by damaging them to trigger a banishing ritual. They must complete tasks and collect souls for the mysterious Peddler in order to survive the In-Between and eventually escape. Deceit 2 is designed as a social sandbox with unique and creative ways to play both roles. Players must study other players’ behaviour and evaluate the situation before making any decisions. There are plenty of tools to assist, but with item and map variations between games, they must adapt strategies on the fly.
