Game Details

Edge is a classic role-playing game endemic to Palm OS devices. It is set in a traditional fantasy world populated by elves, dwarves, humans and all sorts of of vile creatures. The king is mad, his heir disappeared in the woods, the doom is impending and you need to sort that all out. The game leans towards action, and the graphics uses isometrical perspective.

The game starts with creation of a character, where you may choose between three races and four classes: warrior, mage, thief or a priest. Casting classes has their set of spells and the other two can choose proficiency with different weapons and typical rogue skills like “hide in shadows” or “pick locks”. Advancing your character is also traditional and based on experience gathering and then updating your skills. Besides that it is possible to hire a henchman to help you out or get a pet.

Edge is played in real-time, but the movement is restricted to tiles like it was in a more recent Eschalon series. The gameplay revolves around solving many quests, interacting with NPCs, exploring and fighting. The combat can be executed in two ways: automatically or action-style - mashing the right buttons, if the device gets enough of them.
