Game Details

Football Superstars is a massive multiplayer online football game. The player gets to create his own footballer and can join teams consisting of other players. The game essentially consists of two parts: football and lifestyle. The most basic aim of the game is to get as good as possible on the football pitch. By playing matches the player gets rewards that can be spent in the lifestyle world. The player can be rewarded with cash, attributes, experience and fame. Cash can be spent on different things such as clothes, gym training and skills. There are two kinds of cash: FS dollars that are earned in-game and FS credits that can be bought with real money.

Unlike other sports game where the player controls a full team, in Football Superstars he only controls a single footballer and has to cooperate with other players. Only the goalkeepers are AI controlled. The game is played from a third person behind the shoulder perspective and can be controlled with either a gamepad or a mouse and keyboard combination. Basic controls include typical things like passing, shooting, tackling etc. The player has to be aware of his stamina level. Too much sprinting around and he will get tired which will affect his abilities. The player can also use skills which can be bought from trainers around the world. These can either permanently or temporary boost the stats of the player.

Football Superstars is as much a role playing game as it is a sports game. By playing matches the player levels up his character and increases his attributes. The player can also improve his fame level which determines how much money he earns. Every time a player levels up he gets six gym training points that he can use to increase his performance for attributes such as strength, speed and endurance. There are also football attributes that increases depending on what the player does on the pitch. The attributes are also affected by different items that can be bought, such as studs, boots and shinpads.

There are four different match types: amateur matches, FS club matches, friendly matches and player managed club matches. Amateur are for players that are new to the game and on a low level. In FS club matches the player plays for one of four teams and has to help them reach the top of the league. Friendly matches are like amateur matches but for players of higher levels. Player managed clubs matches are for teams that are player created and controlled.
