Game Details

In Game of Thrones Ascent, the player takes the role as a noble house in Westeros. It is based on the TV series Game of Thrones, which itself is based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin. The story of the game parallels the events in the TV series, and they are told through quests. At the start of the game the player creates a custom character and through the tutorial become a noble who swears allegiance to one of the many houses.

Similar to other social games, it combines different aspects of management. The player needs to build up a castle to produce various items and the main domain screen contains the information about the character and the buildings. New buildings can be constructed to provide resources and currency, and most of them can be upgraded over time. Character development and experience is provided through quests that require Sworn Swords to fight a battle with a number of options to determine the approach. Many other quests focus entirely on the role-playing aspects and are represented as conversations where choices can be rewarded with income and goods, but also alter various character statistics and allegiances. After leveling up new buildings become available.

The social component is provided through the ability to add friends, visit their realms, exchange gifts and form pacts. From a certain level it becomes possible to send Sworn Swords on missions in their realms, affecting the relationships for better or worse. The game is free-to-play and has an in-game currency, but also supports a premium currency for additional items and equipment, and to speed up time.
