Princess Lemian has spend much of her life studying in a foreign school. One day, as she is strolling through the campus, a group of mercenaries attempt to kidnap her. The Princess’ personal lifeguards, known as “Her Knights”, arrive in time to rescue her, and she learns that war has broken out on the continent. The Princess must now travel back to her homeland, with her brave knights protecting her from danger.
Her Knights is a Korean-made role-playing game in predominantly Japanese style, with light tactical elements. Like in most games of the type, the player navigates the party of characters on the overworld, visiting towns, talking to non-player characters, and participating in turn-based battles - all viewed from an isometric perspective. The knights gradually lose energy when traveling and must rest to replenish it. The princess herself doesn’t fight, but each of her knights is a fully controllable character with a variety of attack moves and combos. Formation, defensive stances, and the direction the characters are facing affect their performance in combat. The player has the option to replay battles with a suggested lower difficulty.
Personal relationships between the princess and the knights play an important role in the game’s plot. The player can use special items to influence these relationships and even initiate romances with specific knights.
