Harmonian Tales is a Korean-made role-playing game. The plot is introduced laconically: the player controls a young man who wakes up in a cave and must find his way home. As he travels through villages and towns he meets people who can help him and may need his help as well, and becomes involved in a greater struggle.
The game’s structure is reminiscent of Japanese RPGs, with overworld navigation, town-dungeon-town linear advancement, and simple character growth. There are no random battles: enemies are visibly roaming hostile areas. Combat has a tactical element, allowing the player to move a party of up to five characters on a grid in a turn-based fashion. Each character has two types of basic attacks and also learns magic along the way. Bonus experience points are awarded to the character who dealt the final blow to the enemy.
