Hellbound takes place in Edenville, USA in the 80’s. The player plays a girl named Eyor. There has been some strange disappearances lately and Valerie Kaplan, one of Eyors friends, suspects that there is a lot of spirit energy in the town. So She persuades Eyor and another friend (Maurice) to get together one night to summon an arch spirit. When the ritual is complete Lucifer, Lord of the Underworld, shows up. He has a little problem: he suspects that the arch angel Gabriel is preparing for the great war by infusing chosen humans with angelic powers thus making them incredible powerful. Lucifer now needs a couple of chosen warriors himself and he gives the players party an offer to join his cause. But to prove themselves worthy they must first fight a simulated battle inside a collective nightmare. When the group the player controls starts it fight for Lucifer it is soon discovered that Gabriel not only recruited humans but also animals.
