Hylics 2 (2020)

Hylics 2 is a turn-based RPG game that takes place in a world where the tyrant Gibby’s minions are attempting to bring back their presumed-dead master. Players take on the role of Wayne, the protagonist, who is tasked with assembling a crew and stopping the minions in their tracks. The game boasts a unique visual style that blends stop-motion animation, 3D-scanned clay models, and pixel art that provides a mesmerizing experience for players. Throughout the game, players will engage in turn-based combat against over 25 adversaries, each with their own unique abilities and behaviors. In addition to combat, players can gather Wayne’s crew and explore 3D environments using air-dashing, rolling, and gliding to find hidden treasures or evade enemies. Hylics 2 also features exciting new battle abilities that can be learned by finding TVs throughout the world. Additionally, there is optional side content, including a platformer mini-game and a first-person-view dungeon-crawler. While the game draws on motifs from its predecessor, Hylics 2 stands on its own and provides an engaging experience for both fans of the original and newcomers alike.
