Game Details

Kaatje van Ketnet is a collection of six short games based on the Kaatje franchise for children, developed for VRT, the national public-service broadcaster for the Flemish Region and Community of Belgium. Ketnet is the brand used for all VRT broadcasted children’s programmes. The games are selected from an interactive main menu where children can click objects in the environment for a response. The game is entirely in Dutch.

The first game is a Frogger variant where a monkey needs to be guided over a river, jumping from log to log using swipes. There are multiple levels unlocked gradually with an increased difficulty. In the second one Kaatje has to shoot red balloons using a slingshot. The player taps the balloons to shoot. Green ones carrying a duck need to be avoided. Kaatje is a stationary position on the left side of the screen and the balloons rise from the bottom. There are multiple levels for this one as well. The third game has the player race a rocket on a track with three lanes. The device needs to be tilted to switch lanes and avoid obstacles such as logs. The fourth game is an interactive view of a farm. There is no real game element, children can just tap animals and parts of the environment for a response. In the fifth game sheep need to be guided into an enclosure, by moving Kaatje in the right direction to steer the sheep. In the final game Kaatje needs to complete a maze from a top-down view to find a key. There are multiple levels.
