Konung III: Ties of the Dynasty

Konung III: Ties of the Dynasty is the third instalment in the Konung series. Like its predecessors it’s an RPG, taking inspiration from Slavic and Scandinavian mythology. The game returns the player to the Woodland, a fantasy land based on East and North European legend combined with magic elements. In the game you take control of one of six heroes, both male and female and either of Slavic, Byzantine or Viking descent.

The day that the Titans ruled the Earth have come to an end, and the heroes and princes of old are gone. The last Konung of Miroslavl has died without an heir, before dying the Konung had his last will written down as to who should succeed him. After his dead it is announced that it is the Konungs will that whoever brings the legendary Champion Sword, a weapon from ages long past, to his great hall is worthy of succeeding him.

Aside from the regular roleplaying the player will sooner or later take controle of villages. From these villages tribute can be collected. It’s also possible to upgrade the towns healer and blacksmith as well as to lead new people and guards (need to be hired), you find in the woods to your village.
Improvements over its predecessor include a revised combat system, enhanced battle magic, improved settlement control and new skills.
