A malevolent being known as the Shadow King has descended on the land of Neotellus. Clandestine beings that lived in hiding among the humans of Neotellus, and act as their protectors, fear that the Shadow Kings gruesome plans will prevail over their powers. The peaceful, and ignorant, humans suffered the collateral damage of the Cryptid-Shadow King war in the form unprecedented storms and natural disasters. Eventually a human, who would come to be called Hero of Neotellus, discovered the Cryptids and the rue nature of the disasters befalling the world. This hero allied with the Cryptids, and showed them that by combining their forces with the humans of Neotellus the world might yet be saved…
Cryptids exist in the form of cards that bear their likeness, the player travels with their allied Cryptids in card form. Card rarity is, in most cases, either, common, rare, or ultra rare. When players acquire a pair of a card they may combine them to ‘evolve’ the card. This resets cards stats, but generally increases base stats and gives the player a new card art. Cards can also be powered up through ‘enhancing’ this sacrifices one of the players card to power up another.
Players can engage in battles with other online players or in the quest mode. Player may battle for treasure, coins, or to improve their ranking. In quest mode the player goes along story driven paths fighting enemies for coins and new cards. These quests end in a boss battle. Battles require the player to assemble a front line attack and defense team of cards and a back line. Some cards have special abilities that will augment attack and defense or alter elemental strengths/weakness.
Players can buy new packs of cards, as well as trade their existing cards with other players.
