Pocket Wizard: Magic Fantasy! follows a young mage on her quest to become the Croesus pixel world. Fortunately she has a magical protective barrier that no monster, no matter how great of size can breach. And killing monsters is a sure way to make money! Her avarice knows know limit, and the monster supply is endless, by combining these facts with shrewd investment a wizard can make a pretty penny in no time.
Gameplay consists of the magical heroine walking to the right as the background scrolls by, repeating every few seconds or so. Monsters continually wander up to attack, and are repelled by a magical forcefield around the character. There is no way to die, or lose. As monster approach or stumble away from the forcefield they can be destroyed with a magical wand shot. No aiming is required, just tapping the screen automatically damages monsters. Magic skills load over time, which require the player to enter a series of directional inputs that result in a more devastating and longer lasting attack. Each monster earned gives a set amount of coins. After intervals larger boss monsters will appear that can be converted into larger sums of coins.
The money collected can be used to upgrade either weapons, magic, investments, or treasures. The weapons result in more money being made from killing monsters, as well as increasing the speed at which they can be destroyed. The magics require increasingly long combinations of directional inputs to execute but offer new visuals and longer lasting kill times. Investments, in various institutions such as schools, will pay dividends continuously ever few seconds to the players overall amount of money. Treasures increase the amount of money or effectiveness of the other categories.
Every few hours the player can open a treasure chest to receive a random amount of money. There is no final goal to the game other than to increase the money or points of the heroine and all gameplay continues indefinitely.
