Game Details

Rance Quest is an adult role-playing game and a sequel to Sengoku Rance. The titular hero, the knight with an insatiable sex drive who treats women like objects, has completed his adventures in feudal Japan and returns to the central continent. His companion and sex slave Sill Plain has been encased in ice by the evil Demon King, and Rance must find a magic spell guarded by the Kalar race in order to free her.

The game abandons the strategy RPG format of the previous installment and returns to the more traditional formula of the series. The structure of the game is quest-based: when the player accesses the headquarters, various primary and secondary quests can be undertaken. Quests typically involve retrieving items, slaying monsters, escorting people, etc., and usually either advance the main plot or offer rewards.

The player must select five active combatants from a larger amount of available ones (mostly female). Each character has a certain affinity (“charisma”) level that determines her relationship with Rance. Characters can be divided in front and back rows during battles. Like in most previous games in the series, the battles are turn-based and enemies appear randomly. When a character levels up the player can select skills to learn and upgrade. These skills have a limited usage during quest progression, and can only be replenished at the headquarters.
