RPG Gamers summary

Reptilian Rising is an 80’s tabletop-styled game that incorporates squad tactics and a unique take on time-travel. In the game, players find themselves in the middle of a timeline skirmish, traversing seven time periods to confront an entity known as The Ouroboros.

The game presents its challenges through an array of oddly imaginative and hostile creatures such as communicative dinosaurs, flesh-hungry lizardmen, lethal Lazer Raptors, and Manborgs with malevolent intentions. A conspicuous adversary also appears in the form of the Dictatorsaur, a monstrous amalgamation of three of humanity’s worst villains in one grotesque dinosaur body.

Players will have to rally a crew of humanity’s most exceptional heroes across different epochs to level the playing field. Noteworthy personalities in the roster include the likes of historical leaders such as Julius Caesar, eminent figures from the middle ages such as Robin Hood, and prodigies of super-science such as Albert Einstein.

The essence of time travel in Reptilian Rising goes beyond the traditional trope. Players use ‘Time Energy’ to manipulate various time-twisting abilities that can disorient the reptilian invaders. These abilities include the possibility to clone troops, summon reinforcements or create time-gates that expedite your heroes’ movements across the map.

The game offers replayability through its feature that allows players to repeat missions for bonus objectives, jump between time periods to unveil secrets and more. Upon successfully thwarting The Ouroboros, players can engage in online PvP against fellow commanders, answering amusing theoretical match-ups such as Winston Churchill versus FDR.

Offering a unique twist on squad-based tactics games, Reptilian Rising diverges from typical game norms by integrating historical figures into its narrative and combining quirky adversaries with time-traveling mechanics. The game is currently available across multiple platforms, and the developers encourage players to engage with their community on Discord to get the most out of the Reptilian Rising experience.
