After Leila Reifido managed to defeat the machines, the inhabitants of the underground city of Ge-Pang finally obtained the much-needed technology. Meanwhile, the surface of the Earth was plagued by the so-called Phantom Labyrinths - twisted passages populated by dangerous creatures. Adventures began to settle nearby, creating outposts and towns. Leila and the white tiger warrior Sigma head outside to inform the authorities of upcoming dangers, and have to tackle these perilous places by themselves.
Sonic Dive is a sequel to Sonic Princess story-wise. From the point of view of gameplay, however, it returns to the role-playing roots of the Mugen no Meikyū franchise. The game is an isometric dungeon crawler with randomly generated layouts and enemies. Though Sigma follows Leila, only the latter can fight and is controlled directly.
Combat is action-based. The player can attack physically with the equipped weapon or choose any of the skills Leila has learned. When Leila levels up the player can increase any of her basic parameters (Intelligence, Strength, Vitality, and Spirit), or level up her spells or skills, which also leads to unlocking new ones.
The game is divided into several segments, each consisting of several dungeons and culminating with a boss battle, after which Leila’s level reverts to one. Towns can be accessed between dungeon trips to save the game, buy equipment, and talk to NPCs. The game contains scenes with nudity and sexual situations.
