About the game

Sorcery is an adaption of the first part in Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! series of Fighting Fantasy game books to WAP based mobile browsers.

As in the book, the player adventures through the Shamutanti Hills in search of the Crown of Kings, a magical artifact that guarantees reign over a group of allied kingdoms. The player progresses by reading the prose and making choices at many junctions and other decisions, while also gathering inventory items, managing statistics and fighting monsters. During combat, the player can chose to attack, defend or run away each round, and the results are calculated by dice rolls. There are also a number of spells to learn and use in specific situations by selecting a series of hand gestures.

The WAP adaption offers backtracking to certain resting places, as well as a number of additional plot points and puzzles that were not in the book. Many text descriptions where shortened, whereas the number of illustrations was increased to offer an image for every location.
