One day, mystic curio shop owner Rinnosuke encounters a strange device that made its way into Gensokyo from the outside world. This turns out to be a World Replication System, a machine able to create fictional cyber worlds. When activated, it produces the mysterious “Lotus Labyrinth”, which residents of Gensokyo start exploring - only to discover that the cyber worlds are having an impact on the real world, too.
This roguelike follows the gameplay pattern set by Japanese “mystery dungeon” games like its predecessor, Touhou: Genso Wanderer. This time around, the main gimmick is party size. Players can assemble gargantuan parties of many characters and take them into a dungeon all at once. Players can either travel with a single large party, or they can put together several sub-parties which make their way around the dungeon on their own.
