Ultima Online: Stygian Abyss

Stygian Abyss is the eighth expansion pack to Ultima Online.

Sosaria offers a newly discovered opening to the Stygian Abyss which is for players to explore. Within the abyss there’s a temple which serves as a portal to another world: Ter Mur. Ter Mur is a world inhabited by Gargoyles who are on the brink of extinction.

Gargoyles are a newly added playable race. They can fly over obstacles and have a larger movement speed than other races. They cannot use a bow, but instead apply throwing weapons. Gargoyles have their own set of spells (Mysticism).

Ter Mur is a new area where players can build houses. There are nine new sets in the style of Gargoyle architecture. The Stygian Abyss on the other hand is a huge and dangerous dungeon featuring various new enemies.

Imbuing is a new crafting skill that enables players to add magical properties to crafted weapons as well as take them away again.
