You are a brave, if not foolhardy, band of adventurers who made the bet of their life time - to battle the horrors of the haunted royal graveyard and bring back evidence of your journey. Waking up the next day in a jail cell of a small town you realize that you have a long and perilous journey ahead of you, if you want to reach the tomb and return to tell the tale.
Undercroft is heavily inspired by old RPG such as The Eye Of The Beholder series and early Might and Magic games. The game is presented through a 1st person view, with simplistic graphics. You can create a party of up to four characters, chosen from five different classes, each with twelve unique skills and three attributes.
Mechanically, the game is almost identical to the RPGs of yore: All actions, be it movement or spell casting, are turn based. You turn in 90 degrees “jumps” instead of a smooth motion (similarly, you walk forward in large “steps” instead of a flowing advance). Quests, stores, tactical puzzles, armors and weapons are abound in this traditional fantasy setting.
