The disciples of the great Chinese philosopher Mozi have built their own school of martial arts. A twenty-year-old orphan named Fu Zixun is the leader of the students, answering directly to the master. One day, following a demon attack, he meets a young girl named Ding Yun. The demons killed her father, destroyed the school, and stole the priceless Spirit Fusion Pot. Fu Zixun and Ding Yun must find allies who would help them to defeat the demons and restore peace.
Xuanyuan Fu Mo Lu is a spin-off of the Xuanyuan Jian series. It is set in an unspecified year during the reign of the Song Dynasty, and utilizes recurrent plot elements from previous games in the series. However, unlike other Xuanyuan Jian games, it has strong tactical RPG elements. There is limited exploration in towns, but otherwise the story develops automatically, with the player taken from battle to battle. During combat the player navigates the characters in a turn-based fashion, and attacks when enemies are in range. Elemental magic plays an important role, influencing the characters’ affinities and performance in battles. Character growth is handled automatically with a simple leveling up system.
