In the world of Gaia, every thousand years the princesses of the five great dynasties gather together in the capital city, to conduct a ritual that is believed to bestow peace upon the land. Like all the other city youngsters, the apprentice swordsman Reseshibu and his friend, the lovely Jena, are attending the great ceremony. But as they see someone invading the castle, they rush in, and after a while discover, to their amazement, that the five princesses were abducted. he youngsters decide to rescue them and to restore the sanctity of the place, but it’s a tough decision for the young hero, since the perpetrator of the crime is his own uncle…

One of the first anime-style adult RPGs for Windows 95, Yōjo Ranbu: Kegasareta Seiiki (which roughly means “Wild Dance of Female Demons: The Desecrated Holy Ground”) boasts full voice acting and CD-quality music. The entire game is viewed from first-person perspective, with 3D dungeons (with auto-maps) and random enemies that the heroes must defeat in turn-based combat. Beside Jena, two other girls join the party.
