Game Details

During the late years of Eastern Han Dynasty in China (3rd century), it was customary for the emperors to befriend eunuchs, and often the eunuchs could use their influence on the emperor, attaining high positions. Eventually this led to a growing corruption and weakened the emperor’s power. Illegal organizations and private armies appeared everywhere.

A nobleman named Dong Zhuo let his army rush into the capital Luoyang, kill all the eunuchs and dethrone the emperor Ling Di. Dong Zhuo burnt the city and put the prince Xian Di on the throne, who was under his control. Few dared to resist the new power in China. Among those few was Xue Aotian, the son of Xue Yuntao, the chief of imperial kung-fu school. He swears to return to Luoyang and to face Dong Zhuo in battle. But other powers are in the game. A mysterious nation called Yumen, who existed since the ancient times, now has appeared on the stage of history. The great battle for China begins.

Even though Zhengtian Fengwuzhuan is set in a concrete historical epoch in China and features real characters, it utilizes Japanese-style anime character graphics. The player navigates the hero from third-person perspective over pre-rendered backgrounds. The battles are random and are viewed from a side-scrolling perspective.  The characters can act in battles once the time bar displayed near a character becomes full. There is a variety of special techniques and spells to use, beside the standard physical attacks.
