NEOWIZ announced that a patch for Shape of Dreams is set to be released tomorrow, October 2. It features adjustments to the difficulty scaling and allows for a more rewarding experience. Game balance adjustments are also planned to improve stability and combat immersion.
Progression Improvements
Players can look forward to new milestone rewards for Traveler Mastery levels. There's even the chance to earn extra Stardust as they grow. In addition, mastery progression speed has been increased with all rewards now granted even if players leave mid-run. Finally, Stardust rewards from artifacts and "Star Chaser’s Dream" have been greatly increased.
Gameplay Enhancements
There are also gameplay enhancements along with improvements to the quality of life. These include:
- Skip the garden door cutscene for a faster start.
- Late-join support has been added in co-op mode and now possible right up to the final boss fight.
- Certain event mechanics now stop once all enemies are defeated which should make encounters smoother.
Performance & Optimization
There are also changes made to the graphic settings which allow players to control skill effects and improve late-game performance. Major optimizations have been made to skills, Essences, and Traveler abilities that caused frame drops.
Extensive Bug Fixes
In a post, developer Lizard Smoothie shared that they were able to resolve "numerous critical bugs." These include progression blockers, visual glitches, and crash issues. Meanwhile, stability fixes have been made for co-op, achievements, and specific Traveler skills.
The development team said that the update can be considered as "one of the most comprehensive improvements" to the game. After all, it improves a lot of things from progression pacing to late-game performance and stability. They went on to say that they're excited for everyone to experience these changes and share feedback once the update goes live.
