Combat is a central element of gameplay in Achilles: Legends Untold. Unlike many action RPGs, combat in Achilles does not depend on recklessly charging through hordes of enemies. Instead, fights are small-scale, requiring players to deliver well-thought-out moves. Each attack made by the player won't go unnoticed by enemies, who will attempt to surround you or deal a blow when you least expect it.
The game introduces multiple types of unique enemies, each providing a unique challenge for players. For instance, keen-eyed archers remind players to roll or cover themselves with a shield. Armored undead, while slow in movements, are clad in iron from top to bottom, leaving only their backs vulnerable. Wolves, on the other hand, attack in groups, testing your ability to manage multiple threats at once.
