Across the Obelisk: Sands of Ulminin Expansion is Now Available

The newest expansion for the deck-building role-playing game Across the Obelisk is now available. Sands of Ulminin invites players to explore desert canyons and discover what lies beneath the pyramids and solve the mysteries. Two new heroes are being introduced along with a new zone, new dungeons, and even new events. The new expansion is now out on Steam at $19.99.

The release of the new expansion coincides with the first-year anniversary of the game. Since the game’s launch back on August 16, 2022, it has since sold more than 350,000 copies with players continuing to request for more content. The game was initially under the Paradox Arc initiative but its success prompted the transfer to the Paradox Interactive portfolio. This means players can expect to see support for the game along with new content to be released in the future.

Expansion Features

As mentioned, a new zone is added to the game and this is selectable as a new Act 2, or even Act 2, of the game’s playthrough. It not only challenges players with fights against new enemies and bosses but also give them new allies to recruit and help them on their quest. Other features are:

• Two new Aura and Curse mechanics called Scourge and Zeal.

• Three new pets to be unlocked.

• A multi-layered dungeon in the pyramids of Ulminin.

• More than 20 new enemies

• Three new bosses.

• More than 30 new items.

• Players can also look forward to the scarab mechanic. This one has scarabs appear randomly during combat and give bonuses to players who defeat them.

Sandbox Mode

Arriving alongside the new expansion is Update 1.2 with the highlight being the addition of the Sandbox Mode. This new mode is available to those who managed to finish the adventure for the first time. Since this is a new mode, players can look forward to seeing improvements along with more options added.

Across the Obelisk is a cooperative deckbuilding roguelite role-playing that players can take on solo or experience with friends. Players can choose from a roster of 12 characters and form a party. Each character comes with their own set of cards, items, stats, strengths, and mechanics. There are different combinations for everyone to try and enjoy.
