The free and extensive new expansion for Tails of Iron is now live. Titled as "Bright Fir Forest," it's set after the events of the base campaign. In this one, the Squirrels have invited none other than the Rat King Redgi to join them in celebrating the Festival of Leaf Fall. However, an enemy looking for revenge wants to ruin the celebrations.

This new expansion introduces four story quests along with nine side quests. Each one comes with their very own bosses for you to overcome. There are also three new challengers over at the Mole Arena for the King for you to try and defeat. That may appear to be difficult, but the good news is that you'll get access to more choices when it comes to weapons and armor. Look forward to 96 of them. Then there are the eight new cosmetic upgrades available. Finally, there's four new music tracks to help set the mood and three additional achievements/trophies to unlock.

Tails of Iron was released back in July 2021 and is set in a grim land that’s been ravaged by a bloodthirsty medieval war between the forces of Rats and that of Frogs. The story follows Redgi, who is the heir to the Rat Throne. He is on a journey to bring back glory to his fallen kingdom and drive away Greenwart and the Frog Clan. The game’s first free expansion was “Bloody Whiskers,” released in November 2023 and introduced a lot of new post-campaign content for everyone explore. These include a new post-game questline, two additional difficulty modes, five new bosses, a selection of special armors and weapons.

A DLC titled “Crimson Knight” was already release though at that time available with the physical edition of the game. However, it’s now being released separately which means players can now enjoy the new armor skins, weapon skins, shield skins, and helmet skins. This DLC is available digitally on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch.

Tails of Iron is available for the PC via Steam. It’s also out on consoles that include the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
