Developer KEIZO and publisher Whisper Games announced that 2D action RPG ASTLIBRA Revision is headed to the Nintendo Switch. It's releasing for the platform on November 16. In addition, it was also revealed that the game is going to be compatible with Steam Deck.
The game had previously been released for the PC through Steam back in October 2022. The development had revealed before that since this is a unique game, they recommend players try out the public demo first, which is also available on Steam. The demo features the full Prologue along with Chapter One of the game. This should be around one to two hours of game time.
ASTLIBRA Revision has been in development for around 14 years. The plot has enough twists to keep players interested with characters being able to grow in an ever-expanding world. Players can enjoy classic themes like time travel with story element sometimes turned into game mechanics.
There's a total of six difficulty options which means all kind of players not only can enjoy the combat system but also do so at their own pace. In fact, no one can finish all the content casually. That's because even after players "beat" the game, the Postscript after Final Chapter offers an extra story along with a new adventure and a fresh system.
Players can also look forward to the different ways they can build their character. They can choose to be a warrior who mastered ranged combat for example or even a mage who not only can cast magic but event smash enemies with staffs.
Golden Age of JRPGs
One of the interesting things about the game is that it brings players back to the golden age of JRPGs while featuring a side-scrolling action. Players can slash, smash, and even thrust enemies while also building up stamina to get those Possession Skills. One thing to do is to fight aggressively while making sure to think strategically. With the even changing circumstances, players need to make sure that they have the most trustworthy equipment and have the best suited skills.
