Astraeos Mega Update is Now Live in ARK: Survival Ascended

The Astraeos Mega Update is officially live in ARK: Survival Ascended. It pushes Astraeos forward with new challenges across the map. There's going to be powerful creatures that roam both the surface and the depths below. Meanwhile, players need to keep an eye out for ancient forces that stir in long-abandoned arenas and be ready to enter previously unexplored artifact caves which beckon the curious. Of course, there are the new boss encounters.

The highlight is the addition of the vast new desert landmass known as Pyranthos. It's one that's been shaped by myth, ruin, and survival. This hostile and ancient region is far from an empty wasteland and has shifting sands giving way to forgotten structures, buried pathways, and environments designed to test preparation as much as curiosity. This is a place built for exploration, but it doesn’t reward carelessness.

New Enemies

That's because the dunes of Pyranthos aren't getting any friendlier. In addition to the Deathworms that a lot of players already fear, a new threat arrives with the Scorpion King and Queen. Massive and bloodthirsty, these aren't something that players want to stumble into unprepared.

There are also new Skeleton enemies who rattle remnants of battles long forgotten. They stalk the sands with relentless hunger as they protect their lost world with the might of their ancient gods. Meanwhile, the minotaur Minotarchos awaits new challengers. Those who bring it down are greatly rewarded and one step closer to defeating the legendary Hydra.

Moving to the ruins of Pyranthos, Hydraskos the Unbroken awaits. To defeat all five hungry heads, players need to have teamwork, timing, and a whole lot of firepower. Cut the heads from the body and the fight shifts, but only if the team stays in sync.

Finally, the Manticore has flown from Scorched Earth and made its new nest in Astraeos' boss arena.
