Independent game developer Timesea Studio announced that they've officially launched a crowdfunding campaign for Infinity Knights: Xross. It was only last month when the studio revealed that they were working on this RPG about a king and his Infinity Knights who are manipulating the rules of life and death.
The game is inspired by the likes of classic RPGs that include Secret of Mana and Dark Cloud. It offers meticulously crafted pixel art combined with innovative gameplay systems and an engaging story. Meanwhile, players should be excited to know that the music was courtesy of none other than Hiroki Kikuta, known for Secret of Mana and Indivisible.
Kickstarter Campaign
The crowdfunding campaign is now on Kickstarter with a goal of $36,633 and to run for 30 days. As of this writing, there are already 2018 backers with pledges of a little over $18,000. Rewards for those who support the game include soundtrack, art book, and exclusive access to demo builds. Those who pledge higher even get the chance to contribute to the design of the game's different features like locations, enemies, items, and characters.
Talking about this latest milestone, developer Saxon Goodrick shared in a statement that they're excited to introduce a new RPG that honors some of video games' "most nostalgic eras." He added that they've taken great care in coming up with the game and hope that everyone joins them in bringing the game to life.
Infinity Knights: Xross innovates on classic JRPGs with the implementation of a clever system that’s centered around what’s known as The Armaments. These are weapons which have the ability to revive slain enemies. In the game, players take on the role of Xross, who is the newest member of the Infinity Knights. As they work their way through the story, they’ll need to master these weapons while also exploring both static and randomly-generated dungeons.
What do you think? Excited for the game to come out?
Infinity Knights: Xross is going to be available for the PC via Steam in 2025. It’s also going to be launched for the PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch.
