In most games, you're asked to save the princess. However, in this newest title from Black Tabby Games, you'll be doing the opposite. Slay the Princess wants you to do just that and reminds you not to believe her lies.
The game was supposed to be released last Friday but the studio revealed in a post that they faced some issues in getting the certification on Steam, hence the delay. The issue was actually fixed on the expected day of release, but the studio had already confirmed the delay.
What's the game all about? It starts with you on a path in the woods and at the ends of that path is a cabin. In the basement of that cabin is a Princess. You're there to slay her because if you don't, it means the end of the world. However, it's not going to be easy since she'll do everything she can to stop you from completing the task. She'll lie, charm you, and may even promise you the world. If you do give in, she'll make sure to kill you more than a dozen times over.
By the way, the Princess isn't some cosmic horror. She's just an ordinary human Princess. That means you can definitely slay her especially if you put your mind to it. The question that remains can you do it? Just remember that she's very bad and it's up to you to get rid of her for everyone's sake. Also, don't even think about trying to romance her since it won't end well for you.
This new roleplaying experience is from the same studio responsible for Scarlet Hollow. Features of the game includes:
- Fully voice-acted by the impeccable Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight.
- Hand-penciled art with every background and sprite drawn traditionally with pencil and paper by Ignatz-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard.
- There are no time loops since time is a strictly linear concept and it certainly doesn't "loop," whatever that's supposed to mean.
- A branching narrative where what you say and what you believe determines both who you are and how the story unfolds.
