Developer Goodwin Games announced that its epic narrative journey Selfloss is all set to be released on September 12. It's going to be available for the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch.
The game is set in a whale-worshipping world with players taking on the role of Kazimir. Kazimir is a healer who's on a quest to cure the mysterious disease that's corrupting the world. They get to make use of the light of their magic staff to fight the mysterious disease called as Miasm. Throughout their journey, players also get to meet memorable characters. They can travel on foot or by boat. No matter what mode they choose, players enjoy a stunning landscape that's rich with lore and secrets.
The world in Selfloss is pretty much inspired by Slavic and Icelandic myths.
The Magical Staff
As mentioned, the players get to use a staff to fight the Miasm. In fact, the staff is actually central to the mechanics and story of the game. By controlling the staff either simultaneously or independently, it allows for unique gameplay opportunities. The clue is to find different ways to use the staff in solving the puzzles and removing the stain of the Miasma from the world.
Exploring the World
Whether on foot or by boat, players are sure to enjoy the world that the game offers. With the power of the staff, players can power their small boat and travel through the treacherous waters and winding rivers. There are different inhabitants of the world for players to meet and who may need a healers touch to help ease their pain.
An Emotional Journey
It's truly an emotional journey especially as healers try to heal wounds of those who have lost loved ones. Elevating the emotional impact of the game is the powerful and moving soundtrack composed by Arigto.
As they journey across the world, players get to discover a sea-worshiping world with whale gods, which are inspired by the landscapes and tales of Iceland. They can also learn more about Slavic-inspired myths being brought to life through the stories players encounter on their travels.
