A new update is being released soon to The Elder Scrolls Online and there's going to be a lot of new features to be excited about. One of these is Home Tours which lets you share, as well as visit, homes of the players. Today we'll take a closer look at this new feature.
In a post, Cullen Lee, who is one of the game's Senior Systems Designers, shared that this new feature is a way for players to share their creativity with others. He added that they wanted to introduce a tool that would connect players who had a shared interest in housing. Senior UI Engineer James Sammartino meanwhile added that Home Tours is basically the next step is developing a stronger housing community.
At its core, the Home Tours features let you find, visit, share, and even recommend player-made homes in the game. To get started, players can head on over to the new section of the game's Activity Finder and then list their homes for others to tour. They can also use that to tour other homes. For each week, players are given a limited number of anonymous recommendations. These recommendations are the ones use to determine which homes are placed in the Recommended section of Home Tours.
How did this new feature come to be? According to Cullen, they wanted to offer a new system where players could find homes easily while at the same time grow the housing community in a positive direction. That's not all since it appears that the team also looked into how houses were tagged.
There’s no question that when this new feature goes live, it’s going to be an exciting time for everyone. However, for the development team, they’re also excited to see how players are going to embrace the potential of Home Tours.
