The Riftbreaker 2.0 Update is finally here. The main highlight of this free update is the addition of Online Co-Op mode. This is a result of four years of development.

The four-player co-op has players form a team and try to conquer Galatea 37 together. They can play the entire Campaign Mode and Survival Mode. They can also take on the Prologue mission. Players can team up with friends by setting up a server and inviting them to play. There's also the option to join other Riftbreakers from around the world and find the perfect game through the in-game Server Browser.

Since there's now more players, the difficulty level has been scaled. However, this not only means that the gameplay remains to be challenging but fair, it also has the team work together and reach the goals they set for themselves. The development team has also implemented a lot of co-op-centric features to improve the online play experience. These include features like the in-game chat to coordinate the team, the ability to teleport to other players at any time, and even reactivate the mechs of fallen teammates, to name a few.

Endgame Content

While it does make the game even more interesting, The Riftbreaker update also expands the original Story Campaign. In particular, a new story arc has been introduced and it involves Megastructures. These are specialized buildings having massive resource and upkeep requirements that's sure to test the planning skills of the players. However, in return they hand out powerful passive boosts.

The new story sees voice talents Francesca Meaux and Ryan Laughton, who reprise their roles as Ashley and Mr. Riggs. The new plot adds as much story content as each of the previous World Expansions. There's around 40 minutes of new dialogues which should give everyone new insights into the world of The Riftbreaker.

Players can also expand their economy beyond what was previously possible thanks to the new outpost limit set to 15. There are also new planetary locations to discover that offer resources.
