Lamplighters League and the Tower at the End of the World is finally out. This tactical turn-based strategy game is available for the PC courtesy of Steam and the Epic Games Store. It's also offered for the Xbox Series X/S.
The game developed by Harebrained Schemes, the same studio responsible for titles like BATTLETECH and the Shadowrun trilogy. The Lamplighters League offers an original pulp adventure that's set in an alternate 1930s timeline.
Call your Agents
Players get to form their very own Agent rosters from a rag-tag selection of misfits and try to stop the Banished Court and their plans of world domination. There are high stakes missions that need to be completed to unlock rewards and move the story forward. However, each of the Agents come with their own signature style and unique moves which can tilt the balance of battle.
Keep in mind that players that come up with the best strategy have the chance to earn high-value rewards. Be sure to expand those strategic options.
They're No Pushovers
The missions aren't going to be easy especially since the Banished Court is more than ready to face the Agents. Not only do they have more resources, but also more personnel and weapons compared to what the players have. In addition, the difficulty level is able to adapt based on the actions of the players. For example, there may be more enemies to face, or they'll have more health.
Enjoy the Music
Aside from the exciting gameplay, players can also enjoy the soundtrack courtesy of the award-winning Jon Everist. Not only does it amplify the retro atmosphere of the game but also reacts to the gameplay. Overall, the music helps enhance the thrill for each of the missions.
Talking about the game, Harebrained Schemes Game Director Chris Rogers shared that they were able to bring an original game world through the talents of the team. He added that they used the lessons learned from their previous titles to offer an experience which is fun, engaging, and even rewarding.
