MENACE: Coming to Steam Early Access Next Year

The role-playing game MENACE is releasing to early access for the PC through Steam in 2024. The game is being developed by Overhype Studios, the same company responsible for the turn-based tactical RPG titled Battle Brothers. It offers players a grounded sci-fi strategy experience where they are tasked to bring back order across the far reaches of space.

Take Command

The has players command a strike force in a distant system that’s been cut off from the Core Worlds. This team is composed of mercenaries, marines, and even criminals. In the lawless frontier, the Wayback system is under the control of the questionable corporations, the fractured planetary governments, and the pirate warlords. These different groups are fighting for a new order.

Players initially start to lead their team from the strike cruiser which is the TCRN Impetus. Later in the game they’ll need to bring the disparate locals together and fight an unknown threat. It’s not going to be limited to infantry squads since players can also field tanks and even mechs.

Upping the Ante

MENACE has everything that players loved about Battle Brothers and takes it to new heights. This includes the dynamic sandbox gameplay, army management, and characters, to name a few. Meanwhile, the 3D environments result in larger skirmishes happening on living battlefields. Players can also keep a close eye on the mysterious enemy builds that's present on sandbox. There are a lot of innovations introduced in the game and they are to shake up the genre.

• Experience various equipment options, detailed supply management, and the ability to commandeer vehicles.

• Disparate factions to negotiate and ally with, or destroy, at the player’s option.

By the way, each run of the game is different from the previous one. In addition, players get to take on what seems to be the overwhelming challenges taking place on multiple forms.
