Developer Angry Cat Studios and Publisher Firesquid have announced the demo release of their upcoming turn-based RPG, USC: Counterforce, during this week's Steam Next Fest. The demo is available now and will offer a glimpse into the intense science fiction atmosphere of the game. From what we know, the game takes place in a futuristic world where players will take on the role of a member of the USC Counterforce, tasked with defending the United Federation against an alien invasion.
Inspired by classic 90s tactical turn-based games, USC: Counterforce puts players in control of a strike team of commandos sent to planetary body M-8322 to investigate and eliminate an alien threat. Each character in the game has their own unique skills and passive abilities, and the fully customizable campaign offers endless replayability.
The demo includes a tutorial, two game modes (missions & operation), three maps, squad customization and five difficulty levels, providing hours of gameplay for players to get a taste of what's to come. The development team will also be hosting two live streams on the USC: Counterforce Steam page during the festival, including a developer talk and playing session.
One of the most intriguing aspects of USC: Counterforce is its advanced co-op mode. Players will be able to team up with friends and engage in intense battles against the alien forces.
It's worth noting that while USC: Counterforce has generated a lot of buzz among the gaming community, the final product may differ from what we expect. Nevertheless, we're eagerly awaiting the release of USC: Counterforce and can't wait to see what the developers have in store for us. The full game is set to release in March.
