Senior Producer Reveals More About Solo Play and PvP in New World: Aeternum

Launched on October 15, New World: Aeternum offers an exciting single-player experience along with the chance for competitive players to test their skills and character builds in PvP combat. Regardless of which players choose, it gives adventurers of any playstyle the ability to enjoy a journey of their choosing while also getting to experience the many thrilling sides and stories of Aeternum.

With this in mind, none other than the game’s senior producer Katy Kaszynski revealed more about the single-player experience and PvP within the game.

Single Player Experience

Let's start with the single player experience where players can finish the main story questline completely solo. That's because all encounters have been made to make sure that solo players are able to finish it. It goes without saying that being part of a group makes things easier though it's not required.

For those who later find the open world content rather challenging, it only means they have to get stronger. That means doing the main story and even the side quests. They can also spend some coins on TP or possibly craft better gear that they can use. Indeed, there are different ways to grow.

Solo players can also take on the end game repeatable soul trails and obtain daily rewards. Those who want to enjoy group content but still prefer the solo experience can enjoy the different modes like Outpost Rush, 3v3s, and Expeditions.

Enjoy PvP

For those who want to test their skills, there are several ways to unlock the ability to take on PvP-focused content. For example, once they reach Level 10, players have the option to join a faction where they can then flag for PvP or take on PvP faction missions. It's important to remember though that not all PvP content requires players to be in a faction. There's 3v3 Arenas which can be unlocked at level 20 and Outpost Rush which is available starting at Level 60. There is also Cursed Mists which is a Free for All area and crossing mists auto-flags players for PvP.

For those wondering, there are measures in place to ensure that competitive play is balanced. For example, modes like 3v3 Arenas and Outpost Rush have gear score scaling to make sure that the playing field is level. There's also a plan to add a matchmaking rating system which groups players with similar skills.
