Sky: Children of the Light Sets New Guinness World Record

The MMORPG Sky: Children of the Light has managed to break a new Guinness World Record during this year's Gamescon. The game holds the official record for having the Most Users in a Concert-Themed Virtual World. This was made possible through developer thatgamecompany's innovative proprietary technology which allowed 10,061 players to come together online and in person.

During the record-breaking event, the skies of Sky were decorated a display of color and light as the crowds of players took an spiritual animated journey through a virtual concert with internationally acclaimed singer, AURORA. Talking about this achievement, the studio's CEO and creative director Jenova Chen shared that while they were the ones who created the game, it was the dedicated community who manage to sculpt its universe. He added that it is the players who "deserve all the credit" for this world record.

Sky: Children of the Light is known for having beautifully animated landscapes combined with a touching storytelling which has resulted in building lasting bonds between the different players worldwide. Since its initial release back in 2019, the game has more than 260 million downloads with the loyal player community continuing to grow.
