Skybound Games announced that it has partnered with developer Red Hook Studios for the release of a physical edition of Darkest Dungeon II. It's going to be available for consoles PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and the Nintendo Switch.

The Darkest Dungeon II physical edition is priced at $39.99 and comes with a game cartridge for the Switch and disc for the PS5 and Xbox consoles. It also has an intricate build-your-own stagecoach model and redemption code for the game's official soundtrack.

A lot of new content is being planned for release and you can read more about it here.

Face the Chaos

The game features a roguelike road trip of the damned. Players are invited to form a party, equip their stagecoach, and then set off across the decaying landscape to go on a quest to avert the apocalypse. Indeed, it is four heroes and a stagecoach that stand between darkness and salvation. Get ready to uncover and experience the tragic origin stories of each hero while at the same time Unlock their full potential through new skills, paths, and items, and to name a few.

Each expedition lasts from 30 minutes to several hours. Even if players do meet an untimely end, it gives them the resources which can be spent to improve the next journey.

New and Improved

In this game, players once again experience the ground-breaking and genre-defining combat from the first title. However, everything has been improved and refined from the stats to the rules. There's even a new Token System which helps make the decisions made by players impactful while also adding more depth of play.

There are also upgrades made to allow for new strategies in each expedition. Players can decide which is important to them as they plan their assaults on the Mountain.

Affinity System

Players can also check out the Affinity System where heroes get to bond with each other as the journey moves forward. Of course, it can also lead to getting on each other’s nerves and with it a journey-ending dysfunction. Players need to manage their stress and interaction to make sure that the team sticks together until the bitter end.

Darkest Dungeon II is also available for the PC through Steam.
