Studio Names Rhianna Pratchett as Lead Writer for REKA

Emberstorm Entertainment announced that Rhianna Pratchett has been named as Lead Write for its upcoming title REKA. With her onboard, there's no doubt that the storytelling of the game is sure to be made even better.

If the name sounds familiar, that's because she's the daughter of fantasy writer Terry Pratchett. Terry Pratchett is known for the Discworld series and served as the author, along with Neil Gaiman, for Good Omens. Despite her father being prominent, Rhianna has managed to hold on her own. Her notable works include Heavenly Sword, Overlord, and Mirror's Edge. She was also the lead writer for the video game Tomb Raider and its follow up, Rise of the Tomb Raider.

In a statement, Emberstorm Entertainment Lead Narrative Designer Jesco von Puttkamer shared that Rhianna brings to the game her "marvelous writing style and incredible experience in storytelling." She has been instrumental in bringing the world of the game to life. Jesco went on to say that working with Rhianna has not only been a joy but also a privilege.

Meanwhile, Rhianna revealed that she's never been one to shy away when it comes to "the weird and wonderful." She added that helping develop the narrative of the game "has been an absolute delight."

A New Adventure

REKA is launching on Early Access this September 12. Once the adventure begins, players get to experience the opening chapter where they learn more about their newfound powers as they go on an unforgettable journey along with their walking and chicken-legged cottage companion.

The game invites players to a cottage-building adventure where they take on the role of a slavic witch going across the countryside with their walking home. They get to build, customize, and expand the cottage over the course of the adventure. They can also design and decorate their walking home with complete creative freedom. Players can also take on quests to unlock new furniture, decorations and even keepsakes.

Ultimately, players get to form an unbreakable bond with their chicken-legged house as they explore mystical forests, swamps and villages together.
