Studio to Introduce Vengeance Mode in Hell Clock

It hasn't been long since Hell Clock was released. That hasn't stopped developer Rogue Snail from sharing what's being planned for the game. One of these is the introduction of the Vengeance Mode.

In Vengeance Mode, the damage dealt is increased while damage taken is reduced. However, with each failed run, these effects are increased to make the next run even more powerful. The good news is that players have the option to turn this on or off at any point.

The mode is for those who don’t care that much about all the "min/maxing" and want to experience the combat, progression, and lore of the game without the need to stop and grind for hours on end. To make the long story short, those who think that the game is dragging can turn this mode on. They can then turn it off if they feel like they want to dig deeper into the build-crafting.

A Game for Players

For those wondering why the Vengeance Mode is being introduced, it's because the studio is following its main philosophy which is that this game is for the players. In a post, the studio shared that its vision is clear and always follows it. However, they assured everyone that they won't force players to play the game their way. The studio went on to say that Hell Clock was designed not to be a grindy game. As such, it is considered as "bad design to punish players who may be new to the genre" and have no clear feedback as to what is wrong in their builds.

Hell Clock is set in the 19th century, a time when Canudos had turned into a refuge for thousands. Its people defied the new Republic and faced brutal retaliation which resulted in 25,000 dead. You get to take on the role of Pajeú, a warrior who's fighting to rescue the soul of The Counselor, his fallen mentor. With each descent, time warps and your power grows as you face the dark forces that claimed his head and trapped his soul.

Hell Clock is a good choice for those who are fans of ARPG progression and depth as well as those looking for the faster nature of rogue-lites. Get the game on Steam now.
